The Pier Link and Garden Street project has been developed to strengthen the connection between St Annes town centre and the seafront, encouraging greater movement between the two key destinations.

Works commenced across several locations in Brierfield and Nelson on 2nd March 2026 and will continue over the coming months in phased operations.

The Fishpool and Pimhole project has been developed to improve connectivity to Bury town centre and other local facilities, making it safer and easier for people to walk, wheel or cycle for local journeys.

The upgrade of a major stretch of road between Castleton and Rochdale town centre is underway, after the approval of £13.5m of external funding for the scheme.
