Works are underway on the construction of a new four-arm roundabout at the junction of Whalley Old Road, with completion programmed for December 2026.

The new roundabout will improve local routes and provide access to the Vistry housing development currently under construction to the south, as well as supporting future connectivity to the proposed Northeast Blackburn Housing Development to the north.

Located on the edge of the existing residential area, the scheme will enhance road safety, improve traffic flow and support the long-term growth of the local area. The project forms part of a wider programme of infrastructure improvements designed to accommodate future housing and development opportunities, including potential further growth to the east of the new roundabout.
