Blackpool Council Highways

In more recent times we were the lead Civils Framework Contractor delivering their award-winning Project 30 Highways improvement programme from 2011 to 2015. This was extended to incorporate numerous public realm and improvement programmes outside Blackpool tower and along the promenade.

The replacement framework was only launched in 2020 and this time three contractors were appointed to the two separate lots (Civils and Surfacing). As with Bolton, the Council has the option to go out to tender as a mini competition or, if they feel the works are too small, or a particular contractor offers some specialisation in the work, they can negotiate the works separately.

We are currently working with Blackpool, co-ordinating the Site and Geotechnical Investigation at Blackpool airport as part of the long-term development of the new Enterprise Zone. 

Significant technical and commercial assistance has been provided by our Contracts Director Matt Edwards, in liaising with the various parties and specialising organisations, both inside the council and externally to deliver the information required for the complex designs.
